Contract to Hire .Net Architect in Century City

Hi Everyone,

My name is Shawn Turner and we have a client in the Los Angeles area (zip code 90067) that is looking for the following:

SR. SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT ARCHITECT

The successful candidate will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of software by using the tools, methodologies and processes established to meet the needs of the organization.

The candidate will be active in contributing to the fulfillment of the company’s Mission, to secure the long-term goals of our clients and the advisors who serve them, by demonstrating the following responsibilities and duties.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Ensure development projects are delivered properly to meet the requirements of both business and IT.

Build sound technical solutions to meet user requirements that consider system capacity, limitations and performance requirements

Ensure that software enhancements and system fixes meet intended business needs according to defined requirements

Maintain and follow established Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies on all projects

Support end-of-day processes during off-hours according to established rotation schedule

Contribute to team building and team projects

Develop high level and detailed designs for assigned development initiatives

Prepare technical specifications from which application programs will be developed

Develop and execute QA routines to ensure quality of software

Assist in the planning and deployment of software releases

Participate in IT initiatives designed to improve the overall of delivery of the company's IT.

Inform manager and user community of progress, issues and concerns

Education: Bachelors degree. Post graduate work, such as financial certification, or master’s degree, preferred

Experience: 5+ years solid experience in Business Application Software design and development

SKILLS

Development Languages: VB.Net, C#, (Java and C++ a plus)

Development Environments: Visual Studio .Net OR SQL Server Management Studio 2005

Web Applications: XML, AJAX, ASP.NET, (Telrik ASP.NET controls a plus)

Reporting Platforms: SRSS Reporting Services OR Crystal Reports, (Logi-XML a plus)

Database Platforms: Microsoft SQL Server OR Sybase

Scripting Languages: SQL, T_SQL, PL/SQL, DTS, SSIS, Perl, ADO.NET, (OLAP, ETL, Data warehouse a plus)

Operating systems: Windows, (UNIX a plus)

Miscellaneous: IIS, Visio, Visual Source Safe, CVS, Microsoft Project, SDLC, Agile Extreme Programming

Investment industry experience preferred

Strong data awareness and understanding required.

Exceptional software development skills.

Strong business acumen and service orientation.

Professional approach to work, including strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to make decisions in a timely manner, sometimes with incomplete information and under tight deadlines and pressure; innovative thinker and creative problem solver; ability to generate innovative solutions; makes decisions using thorough use of data and process, and the moves quickly to action

Results-oriented; delivers results under difficult conditions and demonstrates balanced judgment under pressure; sets high performance for self

Strong mediation skills to facilitate a constructive approach to dealing with conflict

Effectively adapts to change; comfortable with complexity, ambiguity and change; models the behaviors and coaches others to embrace change

Solid technology background, including an understanding of current technology concepts

Strong work ethic

Strong attention to detail
